Sauer’s Valley View Farms was founded by Clair and Lois Sauer in 1968. Clair practiced Veterinary Medicine at the Lewiston, MN clinic until he branched out on his own to specialize in Embryo Transfer work. In 1973 Clair and Lois crossed their first commercial cows with full blood Gelbvieh bulls and the tradition has continued ever since.

Today Sauer’s Valley View Farms is owned and operated by Clair and Lois’ sons Chris and Jason, along with their families. The herd consists of 150 pure bred Gelbvieh, Red Angus and Balancer females. The breeding emphasis is focused on moderate framed, easy keeping females that wean large calves and have a quiet disposition. Cattle are currently sold at the Iowa Beef Expo, Minnesota State sales and private treaty.

Sauer’s Valley View Farms also specializes in hog production (wean to finish), agronomy and feed production at the farm’s Feed Mill; Whitewater Milling.
